This lesson is for people who have been on skis before, either downhill or cross country, or people who have experience rollerblading or ice skating.
The focus of this lesson is for students to become more comfortable on skis and build confidence navigating different challenges like hills and turning.
The best way to build confidence and set yourself up for years of skiing enjoyment is by taking multiple lessons.
You will learn to ski more efficiently, which in turn increases your ability to go longer distances.

Shaganappi Point golf course

Shaganappi is our home base for teaching cross country ski lessons in Calgary. This City owned 27-hole golf course has wide open spaces and a variety of terrain for all ability and comfort levels. Typically not busy in the winter, Shaganappi has room to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this gem of a location in the heart of Calgary. Winter Operations at Shaganappi are managed by volunteers from the Shaganappi Nordic Operations Club.

Confederation Park golf course

Confederation Park golf course is a popular cross country ski destination in Calgary for lessons and recreational skiers. Foothills Nordic Ski Club manages the Winter Operations at Confederation Park and utilizes Confederation for a lot of their lesson and coaching programs. Confederation is an alternate location for our lesson programs.

West Bragg Creek trails are our first choice for out-of town lessons when we can't ski at Shaganappi or Confed, due to its' close proximity to Calgary. West Brag Creek trails are maintained and managed by volunteers from Bragg Creek Trails. There are a large variety of trails to enjoy for multiple users including snowshoers, people on horses, walkers, fat bikers, and people with dogs.
